We really love this facility for our knitting retreat. The dorm style rooms are simple and functional, the Wi-Fi works well, and the grounds are clean and tidy. The one short coming is the food. It’s extremely basic, but also completely edible. The staff in the kitchen are service-oriented, friendly, and helpful. We enjoy our long weekends here and recommend this facility for group/retreat purposes. I recommend bringing snacks and/or utilizing the kitchens if staying multiple days.

Great location for our Carilion Children's Family Camp each year. Plenty of activities for the kids and parents alike. Fairly well kept with few exceptions. Dining area is clean and easily accessible, as well as handicap accessibility to the pool.

I attended a dance recital for my granddaughter and I was very pleased with the quality of the conference center and how well it was set up for sound and viewing. The stage is elevated perfectly for dance recitals and similar events. It was a hot day and it was very comfortable in the center with nice rest rooms available. The staff at the welcome center are very polite and will do anything they can to help you with questions on the 4-H center.

As a meeting place, it was spacious and clean status. Traffic food was basic, southern cooking, as to atmosphere, very much, a camp/school cafeteria experience. The staff was kind and efficient.

This is a really good combination of a summer camp, event facility, and concert Center. There are adequate large sized spaces for meetings, but there are also great amenities for fun, especially in warmer weather. There are a variety of housing facilities, some of which are more hotel-style and some of which are more lodge or bunkroom styles. I would say don't expect a hotel experience, but private rooms and bathrooms for families are nice to have. The lake views and general scenery are really nice, and there is just a whole lot to do here when you come visit.

Had a great retreat last year in April. It’s a beautiful place. It was our first time. So there were some road bumps. 1st, was the food, we have Several ladies, with food allergies. we had talked to them about it, the problem was miss communication between office staff and the food staff. The great thing was that they tried really hard to help us. That was the only thing that was a major issue. We loved it so much we are going back this year.
