Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel - Tarrytown, New York

Lage :
Im Gewerbegebiet. Gegenüber ist ein Supermarkt, um die Ecke ein kleiner Mexikaner.
Die Niederlassung einiger großenr Firmen (BASF und Siemens) liegen in der Nähe.

Zimmer:
Das Zimmer ist geräumig. Die Fenster lassen sich nicht öffnen. Es gibt genügend Ablageflächen und Schränke. Die Beleuchtung ist wie üblich dürftig.

Bett:
Die Matratze war neu. Ich habe gut auf dem Bett gelegen.
Schlafen konnte ich wegen der Lautstärke nicht. Siehe unten.

Sauberkeit:
Die sichtbaren Teile waren sauber. Ich habe aber einmal den Sessel verschoben und darunter Unerfreuliches gefunden.
Im Bad wurde regelmäßig geputzt. Gelegentlich wurden die Seife nachgefüllt.
Im Flur war es schon schlechter.der war fast immer schmutzig. Am Wochenende wurde da gar nicht gesaugt. Da hat sich der Dreck von 2 Tagen angesammelt. Sehr unerfreulich.

Lautstärke :
Eine Katastrophe! Es ist eine Frechheit, was hier dem Kunden zugemutet wird.
Die Klimaanlage lässt sich nicht abschalten und ist unerträglich laut. Sie hatte wohl einen Lagerschaden.Nachts geht sie unvermittelt los und man steht senkrecht im Bett. An Schlaf ist dabei nicht zu denken.
Das scheint ein systematischer Fehler zu sein. Ich war mit drei Kollegen dort und alle hatten die gleichen Probleme. Ein Kollege hat die Heizung ganz abstellen lassen und lieber in der Kälte gesessen. Morgens beim Frühstück haben sich die Gäste über den Lärm unterhalten und diverse Tipps zur Lärmvermeidung ausgetauscht.

Frühstück:
Ganz okay, aber zu teuer. Das Buffet kostet 20 $ und ist recht eintönig. Nach drei Tagen hängt es einem zum Hals raus.

Fitnesscenter und Pool:
Es gibt ein kleines sauberes Fitnesscenter und einen kleinen Pool. Der Pool ist zu klein zum Schwimmen es ist eher was für die Kinder zum planschen. Ärgerlich ist, dass der Pool bis 23 Uhr geöffnet sein soll, aber schon immer um 18 Uhr geschlossen war. Die Geschäftsleute die abends erst ins Hotel kommen haben keine Chance dort rein zu gehen.

Fazit:
Ich kann das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.
Insbesondere wegen der desaströs lauten Klimaanlage und der damit verbundenen Schlaflosigkeit werde ich dort nicht wieder übernachten.

Well, one of the best places to visit during the Halloween season is Sleepy Hollow, NY, and we were very pleased to have a reservation at the nearby Sheraton Tarrytown. This convenient hotel is modern, clean, and full of both families and business people. |There is a restaurant and a pool, but due to our busy schedule we were not able to use either.There is ample free parking, but breakfast is not included. |Our lovely room was decorated in a more semi-formal traditional style, and we did have to hunt for the phone chargers hidden away by the sides of the bed tables. |Our bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had every amenity.|This hotel is a great mid-range choice in the Hudson Valley area.

We called the morning of our arrival to alert the front desk that we were traveling with a baby and would need a crib in our room. 7 hours later at check in we reiterated our need for a crib and were told it was on its way. We left for dinner and came back needing to put our child down right away but came back to no crib. We called the front desk several times with no answer. We visited the front desk twice and were greeted with rudeness and a severe lack of urgency. When I went down on the second trip the front desk associate walked away without responding to me. Our child was not able to go to bed until an hour after their bedtime.

The second elevator was not functioning, which made simple trips take an excessive amt of time. The stairwell doors to outside of the hotel were propped with bricks at all hours of the day which made us feel unsafe.

The bathroom is filled with compounding black mold (see photos). The mattress in our room was broken. We didn’t bother asking to move rooms because we had no confidence that any room could be better (our family across the hall opened a drawer to find moldy food…).

The bartender was slow to take orders, focused on her side work instead while having a wireless headphone in.

With the exception of the housekeeping staff, every interaction we had with members of the hotel team were cold and we were responded to as if we were a bother. The front desk team never once looked to acknowledge guests in the lobby.

I recommend you avoid this hotel as the area has several other quality options to choose from. We visited the Marriott across the way where we had family staying and had a night and day experience during our short visit there. We reached out to Marriott exactly 7 days ago and have yet to hear back from hotel management, despite being told we would.

The hotel is perfectly located to so many Tarrytown locations. Short Uber rides to every site seeing hot points. The hotel needs updating from the safety of the right elevator to new carpeting. Be prepared to sleep on a firm bed. You may need to ask for a third pillow as the ones on the bed were flat for use. Great room service, always ready to help or offer replacement items if your room does not need cleaning. The walls are a little thin on our third night. There was a conference with several employees from a firm present. At 10 PM the next-door neighbor filed a complaint saying there was a disturbance in our room when my wife and I were just watching Seal Team on Paramount at volume 15 on the TV we had to lower it down till we could barely hear it to avoid conflict with the employee who was attending the conference. We did inform the front desk. We took notes and did a professional job apologizing and made their upper management aware. No discounts for active duty or military veterans.

Christeal

This older-style hotel is located in an odd mixed-use industrial park.

The park boasts value-added amenities like a bank of Tesla superchargers and a grocery store. However, there aren’t other dining or useful retail offerings. My guess is the hotel was purpose-built for the corporations which inhabit the park.

The location is a good launching pad for activities in and near Sleepy Hollow.

Check-in was slow. The front desk staff were initially apathetic but warmed to us as the seconds ticked by. They weren’t terrifically professional but were sufficiently affable, making up for the former.

The elevators were old and slow but the hotel is not that big so wait times were reasonable.

Our room was very small and overcrowded with furniture. Our stay was for only one night and since we didn’t wish to unpack, it was difficult to find a place to open and leave open our luggage. If our stay was longer, they was more than enough space to store our clothing and luggage.

The TV was average sized with outdated technology. There were no streaming options.

Electrical outlets were scarce or hidden behind furniture.

The bed was reasonably comfortable but the old coil spring mattress creaked and complained whenever we repositioned or got out of bed. The linens were mid-level quality but our pillows were at the end of their usable life.

In the bathroom we enjoyed the excellent Gilchrist and Soames soaps, creams and conditioners. We didn’t enjoy spending several minutes rinsing the previous guests’ pubic hair down the shower drain. Nor did we enjoy the visible mold/mildew.

The toilet was old and barely flushed despite a massive water wasting tank.

There was an unfortunate and unpleasant faint smell of smoke in the corner at the far side of the room near the exterior wall. It was a constant on my side of the bed. I assume it is a residual of the days when smoking was still permitted.

I tried the breakfast buffet which is what you would expect. The coffee was burned and the offering were similar to a Fairfield Inn free buffet. I thought the eggs were good until I got to the end a found a thick black hair on the plate. Then I found another embedded in the eggs. Gross, gross, gross.

However, for us, this hotel was severely lacking and it won’t be a hotel that we patronize in the future.

I've been a rewards member since 1988 and have to say Sheraton Tarrytown was the WORST choice.

At check in..I smiled at Alysa and was not even greeted....no smile...no welcome...complete rudeness!

I asked for an upgrade and was given silence...instead I go to the room and I was DOWNGRADED in addition it was for people with disabilities!!..I reserved a King Bed...I had plans so i decided to wait until the next day to discuss the matter.

In the morning...I was NOT greeted again by Alysa and another staff member to discuss why the bait and switch and was told with attitude that I booked the downgraded room!! I looked at her and said I've never booked that type of room and I'm not disabled..the second staffer tried to diffuse the situation by saying it was a glitch...but no apologies...no option to move to another room...NOTHING!

I wrote to the management and waited for a professional response/resolution...got nothing....corporate will be contacted...serious changes need to be made with the staff....THE WORST!

Stay away from this place.

The gym is in dire need of a rejuvenation and size increase. Rooms are nice but looking like a refresh will be welcomed.

The staff is very nice and accommodating.
