Laurie worked with my son from the time he was 18 months old to 4.5. He came to her speaking at a 6 month level and graduated at a 4-5 year old level. Laurie is an excellent speech language pathologist who doesn’t waste one second during sessions. She starts on time and always fully engaged my son for 30 minutes straight, getting him to say sounds and words I hadn’t heard him say before. Laurie’s not only a great speech language pathologist, she’s also very kind human being who really took a personal interest in making sure that my child would get what he needed to be. I highly recommend Laurie! 10/10!

My daughter (2 years old) connected with Laurie right away which truly helped her progress in her speech delay. Laurie was very professional, punctual, communicative, and provided a clean and fun office atmosphere. My daughter really looked forward to visiting Laurie and we saw improvement right away. When we first met Laurie, our four-year-old son was struggling with enunciation and sound deletions. He had difficulty expressing himself and communicating with others. Laurie worked with us, even in the midst of the worst of the pandemic, to help our son and ourselves as parents on a plan that has resulted in a dramatic increase in understandability for his speech.

Laurie is so great with kids and was very patient even as our son would get frustrated at certain speech practice and challenges. She used fun and engaging activities to motivate him and make him feel comfortable. She also guided us through the process and gave us helpful tips and feedback on how to support our son at home.

We are so thankful to have Laurie as our SLP and as a trusted advisor for our son’s speech development these last four years. She has made a huge difference in his life and ours. My daughter has struggled with her s and z sounds for about a year due to enlarged adenoids. After her adenoid removal surgery, her pediatrician recommended that we see a speech therapist to help get her back on track. The pediatrician highly recommended Laurie Martin and gave me her business card! During the first visit my daughter was assessed and was given a plan of action so that we would know what to expect. Within seconds of meeting Laurie, my daughter was completely comfortable and excited to be in the office. Laurie had such a fun and inviting approach to learning. Laurie Martin is fantastic!
My son was struggling a bit with talking (he's currently 21 months) and we went to Laurie at the suggestion of my pediatrician. After our first session I was blown away by the progress my son made after just one meeting. We continued to meet with Laurie weekly, and he has improved improved leaps and bounds with his vocabulary and ability to communicate.
When first meeting Laurie you can tell she is very passionate about her work, and cares deeply about the child she is working with. She is very personable and down to earth which is not always the case with some specialist.
What I also liked is that she gave us (my husband and I) the tools to work with our child at home between sessions.
My husband and I are very grateful for all that Laurie has done for my son.

Laurie is great! She has a friendly and comforting personality which made navigating this new experience much easier. My 8-year-old son was still having trouble with his "r" sound and we were told to find a speech therapist just to clean it up. I found Laurie through my provider and am so glad that I did. She is clearly great with kids and is very knowledgeable. My son was put at ease right away and said that his sessions were "very fun and didn't feel like homework at all." I also appreciated that Laurie was honest and after a short amount of sessions she recognized that his speech was already corrected and we didn't need anymore. However, she checked in with us two-weeks later to make sure that his therapy stuck. Overall, a great experience for our first time with a speech therapist and I highly recommend her.
