After reading all the reviews, and seeing a lot of negative similarities of service and food quality, we still went with an open mind, and we are glad we did!
Perhaps the folks who run this, read reviews and make appropriate changes, because everything negative we read was not in our experience.
First, the check in was great. Drinks while you wait (yes they’re expensive-this whole town is). The MC (I’ll call him that) was giving clear instructions for boarding as well as the perfect time of night to go outside and see downtown. They gave the time frame to do that several times, and they were correct. Just as we finished dinner, we went outside and had amazing views.
The food was very good. The rolls were not hard. The prime rib was very good. Probably not the best I’d ever had, but it was good prime rib. Vegetables were good, including the potatoes and carrots:). The food was not what I’d expect if I paid $100 per meal, but our $100 ish per person included the trip and the show. And I’d go eat there again tonight. Food was better than the nearby (popular) restaurant we went to the night prior.
Now the show, the performers were excellent. Very talented men and women, including the band. Previous reviews that this is mainly classic/old country are correct. That happens to be my type anyways, so maybe that made me enjoy it more. I like hearing “old” Nashville music. It was a good mix of what made Nashville, Nashville, and they did have more modern songs from the 90’s and 2000’s, but most of the show was about the history of this town.
The show ended and we were back at the dock on time. This was a wonderful way to spend an evening, especially as a couple. We made a couple of friends, as well. We did not have any server asking for more tips, there was no obvious expectation of more. Our service did not decline based on how we tipped during the trip. Overall, based on our experience, I would absolutely recommend this trip.
