Very upset and I have not even spoken to a representative. If this how you are going to be and not answer your online request, and your answering machine, why do we have to listen to the message twice before leaving a message. Do you not want business?

Very very disappointed.... But the 2 stars are for the dinner only. The food was great. The sleeping arrangements we're unacceptable and awful. We almost froze to death during the summer...not at all what I thought it would be!

I'm in my 30's I remember when I first went there for 4-H camp I was 9 year old. This was my favorite spot to go to during the summer and my home away from home. I met some wonderful people when I was going there. I went to every program they had during the summer. I miss this place and wish I were a kid again

Great shooting range managed by Airfield Shooting Club. Good scenic drive up 460. Nice get away from the city.

*Sorry that this is long but it's important information.*

Before I explain my rating I have to give praise for one of the employees. Jasmine was absolutely lovely. She's why I rated this 2 ?. Had she not been so charming it would be a 1 ?. I'm confident in saying that if she was in charge, my complaints wouldn't exist. (Of course, that's if my assumption that she's not is correct.)
Now to our feature presentation....

My organization has been renting the open fields here for camp outs 8+ years. *I find it imperative to note that these open fields are also frequently used by children's organizations (like the Boy Scouts).* There are several picnic tables that are huge safety hazards. Rusted screws stick out, at least 5 bench seats are 1 light plop down away from total collapse. One of the benches was so bad that when one of our attendees (a 10 yr old) leaned his knee against one of the ends the other side of the bench shot into the air causing the items on the bench to fly up and hit him. *No bruises or scratches/cuts (YAY) and he emphatically told us he was fine and it didn't hurt (YAY, again).*

Not once, in the 8+ years we've been using their fields, has any bench been replaced. There's no way they don't know of the problem considering they move the picnic tables often. They didn't even weather treat the tables. ?‍♀️

They're letting children use equipment that's ridiculously unsafe. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. (I have yet to speak to the staff about these issues as it's a Sunday and I returned from my event there an hour ago. Will be calling tomorrow.) What makes this worse, in my opinion, is the fact that they are currently doing construction on the shooting range that's next to the fields we use. (Jasmine spoke about it with one of our board members and myself. Just to let us know that we might have to deal with the noise. Yes, it's 100% part of their property.) So--- they have money for THAT but no money for safe tables? Really?!?

For anyone who thinks I should wait until after it's sorted out to post a review: They had at least 8 years to address the issue and they ignored it. ?‍♀️

"Why are you still going there if it's unsafe?" Well, we can't "just use another location" ? because we engage in a full contact sport and they are the only location that can accommodate the size of our tent "neighborhood" AND provide ample space to play without limiting aspects of our game. The sad thing is, I'd give it 4 ? if it wasn't for this. You being negligent in your job in a way where children could be hurt? Nah. Nothing offsets that level of negligence in my book.

I'll own it. I'll go " Director of Human Relations Karen" if need be. *I just mean going "Mama Bear" but in a professional way.* (You know what I mean, right?)They receive state funds....so, yeah. I'll keep going up the food chain until something is done.

*I'll try to remember to update this review once this safety hazard is taken care of. Hopefully, for their sake, it's sooner than later. ⏰*

This was our second year of attending the Boo-Grass at the Lake. Two days of great music, good food and amazing staff! Staff provided golf cart rides for guests to and from dinner and to their lodging destination. Beautiful area and looking forward to next years music!!
