My husband and I stayed here for a last minute weekend getaway. There was a scrapbooking convention going on which made parking pretty difficult. We got checked in on a low floor room with no real issues. The rooms are nice, clean, etc. Our problem came around 10pm when the rooftop bar next door started it's live music which went until the bars closed at 2am. At which point the folks leaving the bars decided to play the piano the city of Lancaster had kindly left on the street directly below. I know there's nothing the hotel can do about the establishment next door, but it really sucked to be unable to sleep on what was supposed to be a relaxing night away from our kids.

My husband and I stayed at this location about 10 years ago for my birthday and it was very nice but a quick trip and I don’t really remember details but we decided this year (empty nested) we would spend Christmas night away and have a holiday trip! I booked an executive king corner suite overlooking the square. So here are the Pros to this stay
-the room was nice but could have definitely been cleaner. The bed was soft and the bathroom was a decent size. The view was absolutely beautiful with the Christmas tree and lights outside!
-we made a reservation at Plough, the restaurant inside the hotel. That was very good and we enjoyed the meal.
-front desk staff were very nice.
But here are the CONS…
- like previously stated, the room was not very clean. There was a sticky residue on the floor, the shower had stains, and there was a spot on the top blanket of the bed. The chair in the room was also stained!
- our room was next to the elevators which banged all night long and kept us up.
- also the rooms have sliding doors on the bathrooms so when the room next to you uses the bathroom 30 times in one night and slams it, it’s very loud!
- as a Marriott member, I was very surprised our parking was not validated and that we had to pay $15 to park in the garage of a hotel we stayed in.
- We spent $40 for a breakfast at the Two Kings and it was absolutely dreadful. Not at all worth the money. The coffee was stale and the creamer curdled in it and the food was ice cold.
Overall, it wasn’t horrible but for the cost of the room, dinner, bar tab, breakfast and parking (about $600) I feel it wasn’t worth the cost!

I've been staying at the Marriott Lancaster at Penn Square for several weeks now, and it's been a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is a beautiful blend of historical charm and spacious modern comfort.

A special shoutout to May, who supervises the service at the Marriott members lounge. She is incredibly helpful and friendly, always greeting me with a great smile that brightens my day. Her warm and welcoming demeanor truly makes me feel like I’m starting my day in the best way possible.

Overall, a wonderful place to stay with excellent service. Highly recommended!

I have mixed feelings about this location. I came here for business and the service was difficult. The rooms were nice though. The area is very nicely decorated and clean. This would have probably been a better stay if it wasn’t a business trip. The parking is a garage and is free or pay depending on what you have with the hotel. The location is frustrating with the one way streets and tons of construction! We had a business group event at this location. The front desk refused to help with anything until a manager came in. So we had to wait for them… then there was the employee who was assigned to us for the conference room. We had to wait on them at their set timeframe and to come back at times. The food we ordered wasn’t up to the price. The eggs were liquid. It was extremely limited. Our guests got frustrated with the food, left their plates, and went somewhere else to eat. Trying to work with them for non meat items was a headache. We had some guests who were vegetarians. Hope they like salad and potatoes… The conference room had very little usable outlets. We needed our guests to be able to use their laptops. We will not be using this location for our business events anymore in the future.

Beautiful hotel! Our only issue was that the rooms were dark. They need to put in more lights. Also, there are no dresser drawers. We had to move the Bible from the nightstand to put our socks and underwear in.

My wife and I routinely stay at this hotel when we visit Lancaster, PA and the Amish country.||The hotel is centrally located near several restaurants, to include Passerine, numerous shops and the Central Market (oldest farmers market in US/check hours/days when opened). The hotel is also approximately a 20 minute drive to the heart of the area's Amish country.||The hotel staff is pleasant, professional and accommodating.||The hotel is ideal for conferences and special occasions, such as weddings.||The parking lot to the hotel is attached on a seperate street from the main entrance.||Over the years we have noticed continued improvement/renovations made at the hotel. For example, the hotel now has a nice lounge area, available to Marriott members with status. The hotel rooms have also been nicely renovated and the hotel has a spa, nice/impressive hotel gym and pool/jacuzzi.||We definitely recommend his hotel.
