We love staying at this property! The rooms are always clean, the staff professional and helpful and the restaurant and concierge lounge are amazing. Larry (operations manager) and Kyle (Asst. Front desk manager) and Trey went out of their way to ensure that our stays are always comfortable. Maria (concierge lounge) is kind and helpful and Flame (front desk) always makes our check-in/check/out process is smooth! We never stay anywhere else when we visit MD or UMD. We highly recommend this Marriott!

College Park Maryland Marriott - A Comfortable and Convenient Stay||I recently booked a block of 11 rooms at the College Park Maryland Marriott for a funeral. While our stay was primarily for a somber occasion, the hotel provided a comfortable and convenient base for our family.||Flame, Trey, and Larry Rollins at the front desk were extremely helpful and accommodating, making the check-in process smooth for most of our group. However, our experience with Tyler Rhodes was less satisfactory, as he was not helpful when my uncle and I had questions or during check-in.||Despite this, the overall experience at the hotel was very positive. The suites were spacious and provided a great space for our family to connect between the service and departure. The location was ideal, being close to where the funeral was held and my parents' house. Additionally, parking was free and easy, which added to the convenience.||I would definitely stay here again due to its proximity to my family. Having seen both the King rooms and suites, I can confidently say they are comfortable for any future stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the University of Maryland campus or the surrounding area.

This place has an incompetent front desk staff and even worse management. I checked in on 18 July 2024 with two rooms attached to my reservation. I needed adjoining rooms traveling with two children. Yonni changed my room from #479 to #478 and informed me that one of my rooms was "down for maintenance." I requested to wait for the room and also requested to be notified when the room was ready. After a couple hours, someone else moved into the room. The keys also did not work properly forcing me to come back down and have them re-keyed. The customer service is awful and the manager wanted to argue with me about my reservation when he had no knowledge of the facts. Without question, this is the worst Marriott that I have ever experienced. This property also has no pool for children which is a major disadvantage for families on Summer trips.

While this location works very well for me (I am in the area 3-4 times a year to visit family), I just can’t stay here anymore.

My biggest complaint is there is no coffee (that can be grabbed quickly and economically) in the lobby in the mornings.

The coffee that is available is located in one of the two buildings, at the bar and is for sale. The person at the bar is always busy and so you have to wait. I bought a large drip coffee for $3.71. I need coffee to start my day/function so it bothers me I have to wait in line for drip coffee and pay that much for it when it’s something the hotel could provide easily and would cost them little to nothing. No one likes the coffee in the rooms, or powdered milk.

On top of that, the last room I stayed in was so small… it could fit the king sized bed and that was it. I paid over $300/night for it. It was not a busy night.

These complaints aren’t the end of the world but when there are better local options available, just doesn’t make sense to stay here.

The location of this hotel was perfect since I was going to be at the university to judge National History Day. The staff was excellent, especially Michelle at the front desk who helped my mother with her disability while I was on campus all day. The hotel restaurant having Starbucks coffee was a big plus for me, especially since I was going to need it for my days working.

The only two negatives I have are: instead of 10 minute parking in front of the hotel, make those spots handicapped. It was very difficult for my mother who has a cane, to walk from the parking garage all the way to the elevator inside the hotel to get to the room. Also, the prices of the food at the restaurant need to be lowered- the coffee was reasonably priced, but my mother and I ate at outside establishments because the costs were just a bit too high and considering how empty it was during our stay, that is most likely why patrons are not dining there.

Overall, it was a nice stay with a very cozy room and good accommodations, but please take to heart the two negatives I had. We will be back next year for NHD!

This is a LEED hotel. The rooms are very efficient, which means they are very compact. I was torn between appreciating the environmental awareness and having traveled with my husband and being crammed in such a tiny space for a week. I suppose the former is preferable. The location is extremely convenient being located on the gorgeous UMGC campus. The bar/restaurant is delicious with great service. Lots of USB ports. Fast internet. The art center in the conference areas alone is worth the stay if you appreciate art. I would stay there again, feeling it was a great conference venue.

This Marriott was quaint. People are nice and helpful. Great location. Beautiful grounds, situated within the University of Maryland. The rooms do need some updating but everything was clean and comfortable. There's a microwave in the small shop in lobby with essentials.
