I had a stroke 4 years ago and I was not able to speak, read, or write. I also had cognitive deficits such as memory and problem solving. After 4 years of working hard closely with Shab twice a week, I got my life back socializing, speaking and etc. we are still working on memory, inferences, and problem solving. This is the next step to my independency.
She is very dedicated and goes beyond and above only a therapist. Her empathetic, positive, and compassionate attitudes helped enjoy my life and regulate my emotion and focus on therapy and become better. I totally recommend her. Thank you Shab.

Shab continued to charge us $20 copay even though she knew we were only responsible for 20% coinsurance. Even my insurance rep said she wasn’t supposed to charge me the way she had been doing. And by doing so, I was paying more than I owed. I’ve attached images below.

Finally, after searching for a speech therapist who treats adults suffering with dysarthria, I found Shabnam Amiri, MS, CCP-SLP, at Speech Plan in Encino. Shab is wonderful! She is thoughtful, caring, methodical, and tailors her treatment to the individual. After only being in treatment with her for 3 months, I feel that I have made significant progress.

I highly recommend Speech Plan if you need a highly skilled speech/swallow therapist. The therapist who came to our home and treated my husband was excellent! He has advanced Parkinson’s and has great difficulty swallowing. The therapist was highly experienced, extremely kind and patient, and delightful to work with. She was truly amazing! My husband responded very well to her gentle touch and her lovely, radiant smile made him feel cared for and at ease.

She educated me and my husband’s caregivers about how to adjust his posture for greater ease of swallowing, how to massage/relax his extremely tight neck muscles, how to best feed him, and how to strengthen his tongue and swallowing muscles. She was a shining light and a huge delight to work with! I’m very impressed with the quality of the therapists who work for Speech Plan and highly recommend this company!

An amazing speech therapist and sweet human being. She helped our son with his speech issues. By the end of his first session he was so improved. Our son has gained his confidence back. Can't thank you enough. Absolutely recommend!

Shab is very professional, kind and friendly. She came to our house and spent time with my father in order to help him recovery. Her guidance became a turning point and game changer for my father's treatment. My father was able to fully recover at the end. We really appreciate Shab.
